September, such a great month. 6 weeks ago today, I was in surgery getting fixed from a dog/crash on the bike. For the last 6 weeks I have followed Dr's orders & not run or biked or lifted or planked or downward dogged...you get the picture. Today though, I am cleared to move into my normal daily activities. (My normal daily activities are not "normal")
To celebrate my recovery today, I started with a 45 minute run on the treadmill (to lessen the shock to the bone) I would have kept running but I cut it short so that I could attend a class at Pure Barre with a dear friend. The injured clavicle held up well, with only some minor dull aching. Bra straps are very irritating to the injury, rubbing the thin tissue between the titanium plate, screws & skin, not fun :(
After that, had to boogie home to get online & register for Ironman Wisconsin! This race has a reputation for selling out FAST! I wasn't sure if I could get in, but I did, without much trouble. Just threw on my Ironman finisher T'shirt, cranked up the Pennywise, danced around the house like a maniac until, BAM! Register complete. So ends the injury drama & begins another Ironman journey. I am truly excited about this. The race seems to have a great reputation with a challenging but fun course.
Ironman Wisconsin Here I Come!
On Wisconsin! That is where I am from, not too far from there. My cousin actually posted a pict from this years IM. It's always a great feeling to have an event to start focusing on. I think you will do great! I am amazed at you triathletes, the endurance level is awesome. Keep it up!! -cq
